Ruth M. Seifert Olson, of Shawano, passed away on her 85th birthday, Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Born on January 30, 1928 in the Town of Waukechon, she was the daughter of the late Gust and Alma (Rindt) Splittgerber. On October 12, 1946 she was united in marriage to Warren D. Seifert at the St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Belle Plaine. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1978. On November 28, 1981 she married Oliver L. Olson. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1993. Ruth worked at Pries Apparel, at Spurgeon's Clothing for 20 years, at Fashion Corner for 4 years and would help out at the Thrift Shop. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Belle Plaine where she had served as past president, secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Aid. Ruth enjoyed belonging to the Red Hat Society, going on bus trips and playing cards. Ruth is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, James and Carla Seifert of Shawano; daughter-in-law, Tina Seifert of Green Bay; 3 grandchildren, Jamie (Bob) Meyer of Green Bay, Jody Johnna Seifert of Windermere, FL, Shawn (Kim) Seifert of St. Paul, MN; 5 great-grandchildren, Delaney and Elliott Meyer, Shayne, Sydney and Samantha Seifert; step children, Terry (Gayle) Olson of Naperville, IL, Glenn (Carroll) Olson of Green Bay, Dale (Ronda) Olson of Clintonville, Paula (Dean) Styczynski of Clintonville; 6 step grandchildren; and 3 step great-grandchildren. Ruth is further survived by: a brother, Carl (Loies) Splittgerber of Shawano; a sister, Verneille (Don) Berkhahn of MN; and nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by: her first husband, Warren Seifert; her 2nd husband, Oliver Olson; her son, Gerald "Jerry" Seifert; her parents; and 2 sisters, Viola Gruetzmacher and Mildred Zeman. Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Belle Plaine with the Rev. Todd Jerebek officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.
