Sam W. House, Sr., age 79 of Shawano, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Appleton. Born on October 17, 1933 in Dickson County, TN, he was the son of the late Pauletta (Carr) Snead. On January 24, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Anderson in Chicago, IL. After marriage the couple moved to the Town of Red Springs where they owned and operated a dairy farm for nearly thirty years. Sam loved his land and enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing as well as some good southern country food. After retirement, the couple moved to the Shawano area. Sam had a very special place in his heart for his family and lived for time spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sam is survived by: his daughter, Beverly (Richard) Neumeier of Gresham; his son, Sam W. (Joan) House, Jr., of Roselle, IL; 5 grandchildren, Melissa (Wally) Moesch, Miranda (Aaron) Eadler, Nicki (Derrick) Bernard, Cassandra House, Sammy W. House, III; 3 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Dylan, Cole; a brother, Marshall House of Chipley, FL; his mother-in-law, Belva Gleaves of Gresham; and several nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by: his wife, Shirley on May 27, 2013; a daughter-in-law, Cindy House; his mother, Pauletta Snead; a brother, Homer O. House; and 2 sisters, Mary Lou Rohde and Hazel Burns. Funeral services will be held at11:00am on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano.
