Sam Skenandore, age 50, of Keshena, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, November 12, 2016.
He was born in Milwaukee on November 21, 1965, the son of Ron and Carol (Jeffery) Skenandore.
Growing up on the Menominee Reservation, he had many friends and was a member of the Assembly of God.
Sam had a passion for country music, song writing, singing and playing guitar, which he taught himself, along with other instruments, which he was rather proud of.
He loved working on his cars and was always there to help his family and friends.
Sam is survived by:
his daughters, Christine and Markie Johnson; parents, Ron and Carol; siblings, Daniel (Kelley) Skenandore of
Shiocton
, William (Jennifer) Skenandore of Green Bay, Rene (Michael) Korth of Shawano and Ronda (Joseph Figueroa) Skenandore of Pulaski; as well as his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Michael Eldridge officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, and again on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations to cancer research or cancer foundations in Sam's memory would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to James Waukau and family for opening up their home in Sam's last days, as well as thank you to Wayne Wheelock.
