Obituary

Samuel A. "Mack" Mahkimetas, age 53 of Keshena, passed away unexpectedly from an auto accident on Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was born November 28, 1967, to the late Howard F. and Regina C. (Skenadore) Mahkimetas in Shawano. Sam graduated from Menominee High School. He worked at the Menominee Casino and enjoyed going to other casinos as well. Sam was a traditional dancer, singer and drummer at Pow Wows and a Golden Gloves Champion. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Samuel is survived by his fiancée, Jolene Bowman, brothers and sisters; Elizabeth Waupekenay, Leila Mahkimetas, Edward (Cyndee) Mahkimetas, Melanie Mahkimetas, Myrtle (Eliza) Mahkimetas, April (Darrell) Mahkimetas, Anthony Mack, Godchild, Darlene Ponfil, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and special niece, Rhonda Corn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Regina Mahkimetas, brothers and sisters Jackie Weso, Howard Mahkimetas, Jr., Ricki Mahkimetas, and baby Samuel Mahkimetas.

Traditional funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Myrtle Mahkimetas residence, W1370 Rainbow Court, Keshena. Burial will be at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Neopit. Friends may call after 4:00 pm Monday, October 11, 2021, until the time of services.
