Obituary

Sandra Marie Cook, age 79, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Shawano. Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 13, 1938, she was the only child of the late George and Sophie (Lovda) Pehas. On April 26, 1958, Sandra was united in marriage to Norman Cook in Chicago. They spent 60 happy years together. She was a volunteer for the Shawano Folk Music Festival as well as the former president and an active member of the Shawano Women's Club. Sandra was an accomplished artist. She primarily worked with watercolors and colored pencils and her art was loved by many. Sandra was also a gourmet cook. Her meals were legendary and appreciated by her family and friends. More than anything, Sandra loved spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Sophia.

Sandra is survived by: her loving husband, Norman; two children, Elizabeth "Liz" Nowak-Sorenson of Shawano and Andrew "Andy" (Julie) Cook of Harvard, Illinois; as well as her granddaughter, Sophia Nowak of Shawano.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Sandra will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
