Sandra I. Martin, age 70 of Bowler, passed away on October 9, 2014 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Sandra was born July 14, 1944 in Wilmington, DE to the late Frank and Agnes (Betterly) Richards. On July 13, 1987, Sandra was united in marriage to John J. Martin in Shawano. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness. Sandra enjoyed playing cards, working crosswords, doing puzzles, and camping. Her passion in life could be summed up in one wordFAMILY. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sandra was a wonderful, caring, strong-willed woman with a big heart who will be missed by all who knew her. Sandra is survived by: her husband, John; her children, Anne (Roger) Malone, Vicki (Chris) Stevens, Bernard "Benny" (Cheri) Bowman, Jr. and Samantha Grant all of Bowler; her grandchildren, Tony, Roger Jr., Tiana, Donavan, Perry, Jeffrey II, Martin, Robby, Sonja, Nicole, Nate, Kristen, Kiera, Bailey, Randi, Cheyenne and Cheyenne Rose; 10 great-grandchildren, plus 2 on the way; and Grandma to many others; her siblings, Carol (Thomas) Gapko of Cudahy, Cindy (Hector) Burgos of Milwaukee and Frank (Joan) Richards of MO; brothers-in-law, Delbert Bowman, Robert "Bob" Vinz, Wayne (Jan) Martin, Bucky (Karen) Martin and Ron Martin; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Richard) Dalve, Audrey (Gerald) Frank and Peggy Draephal. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Sandra is preceded in death by: her grandson, Jonathan Bowman; her parents; her siblings, Barbara Otte, Debby Ziegler, Nancy Bowman and Patty Vinz. A visitation will be held at the Martin residence N9448 Moh He Con Nuck Road in Bowler from 4:00p.m on Saturday, October 11, 2014 until 8:00a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 and again at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness from 10:00a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness with Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
