Sarah J. Elertson, age 86, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Sarah was born on June 24, 1932 in Outagamie County, daughter of the late Hamilton and Elizabeth (Manders) Bain.  On December 30, 1955 Sarah was united in marriage to Harold Elertson.  The couple enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage before Harold preceded her in death on September 20, 2005.  Sarah worked for 13 years at American National Can Company and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano.  She was an active member of several local organizations including the Red Hats, the Faith Circle, the Jerusalem Ladies Auxiliary, and the Flower Queens Homemakers Club.

Sarah is survived by: three children, Bonnie (Darren) Wegner of Fremont, Barbara (Doug) Diemel of Leeman, and Donald (Lisa) Elertson of Readfield; her grandchildren, Dennis (Abby) Seelow, Aaron (Niki) Seelow, Joe (Tori) Bloechl, Chad (Lindsay) Rieckmann, Craig (McKayla) Rieckmann, Jacki (Jeff) Yahr, Shannon Elertson, Cortney Elertson, Jordan Elertson, Rhiannon Elertson, Douglas (Ginger) Diemel, Jr., and Jennifer (Josh) Tabbert; 20 great grandchildren; and two great great granddaughters. She is further survived by: three brothers, Dave Bain of Kaukauna, Floyd (Barbara) Bain of DePere, and Larry Bain of Appleton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob Granger, Douglas (Shirley) Elertson, and Eileen Elertson; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; a son, Gregg; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

A funeral service for Sarah will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Pastor Mark Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery in Lunds.  Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Thursday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and again at the church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
