Scott C. Downs, age 57, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020, surrounded by his wife and sons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after an unexpected battle with heart failure. Scott was born on April 13, 1963, to Mary Margaret Downs in Washington, D.C., and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Esther Wells, in Fond du Lac, WI.

Scott married Debra Morrin on July 21, 1989, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Together they raised two boys, Michael and Lucas; his family was his passion. He had a unique sense of humor and a quick wit. Scott was never without a smile or a joke and was always able to bring laughter and joy to the room.

His loves were family, sports, and music. He enjoyed mentoring youth and coached Shawano High School football for over ten years. Scott took up boxing in high school and went on to win several consecutive Golden Gloves Regional Championships. Later he fought professionally, ending his career with a winning record. Scott was a self-taught drummer and played in a local Classic Rock band for many years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his sons and dear friend Robert.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Debra, his sons Michael and Lucas, his brothers Todd Lerche (Dawn), William Downs (Kellye), and Fred Parsi (Sandy), his sister Tracy Figgs, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Suzanne and Gary Ritter. Also, a close friend for many years, Robert Frost, and many other family members and friends who he cared for deeply.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, and grandparents, James and Ester Wells.

At this time, the family is waiting to make memorial service arrangements pending the health of the general community.
