Sharon
Wescott
February 1, 1968 – May 10, 2026
Sharon K Wescott was born to the late Eugene and Barbara (Larock) Wescott in Shawano, Wisconsin on February 1st, 1968. She started her journey on Sunday, May 10th, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Sharon lived the majority of her life in South Branch where she remained a part of the South Branch Community. She attended the Menominee Indian High School, Flandreau Indian High School, later to receive her G.E.D. She went on to the College of Menominee Nation. She earned her Home Health aide and wild land firefighting certification. She loved keeping watch over our beautiful Menominee Forrest, while sitting in different fire towers. Sharon once even tried tree climbing! She worked as the hostess with the mostest at the Forest Island Restaurant, she was a cashier at Save a Lot, and she had various other jobs.
But, most of all Sharon loved spending time with family and friends, riding in the woods, being at the lake, listening to live bands and dancing up a storm. She loved her animals but always wanted a horse. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her fiancé, Wesley Komanekin; her children, Alina (Michael) King, Maurice Olson and Shaylee Olson; her grandchildren, Binkie, Dante, Trevon, Leilani, Maurice Jr, Daylin, Sosa, Carlyle and Baby Michael; her uncle, Mister (Debra Spruce) LaRock; her siblings, Michael (Sandy) Wescott, Pattie (Stan) James, Terri (Ted) Waupekenay and Daniel (Berta) Wescott. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her fur baby Knuckles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Eugene (B.B) Wescott and Leonard Wescott.
Traditional services for Sharon will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at South Branch Community Center. A prayer service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 8:00 pm. Visitation will be at the center starting at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 14,2026, until the time of service on Saturday.
