Sheldon John “Skuzzy” Webster, “Sāwanoh Kenēw”, Southern Eagle, age 78, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at his home. Sheldon was born on June 9, 1948, in Keshena to the late James and Christine (Pierce) Webster. He was united in marriage to Romona “Mona” Beauprey August 14, 1982, in Neopit. Sheldon graduated from Shawano High School and later graduated from the law enforcement academy of Artesia. He worked for the tribe for 37 years, 13 with the tribal police department during the Paddo Fish era and 24 with conservation during the Leon Fowler era. He was a shot gun rider and known well for being able to chase down anyone who ran. Sheldon loved watching his Packers and was also a Green Bay Packers shareholder. He still cheered for the Washington Commanders who were his dad’s team. He enjoyed keeping up with his WWE every Monday and Friday. He also kept up with the WNBA to watch his great niece Natisha Hiedeman and the Milwaukee Bucks. He loved to drive through the reservation to find all his secret fishing and berry spots. Sheldon adored hanging out with and spoiling his grandchildren and his great-granddaughter special “Leila Beans”.

Sheldon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Romona “Mona” Webster; children, Tasha Beauprey, Mitchell Webster, and Susan Webster; grandchildren, Christopher Martin, Komese, Beauprey, Jacob (Jo-Jo Ortiz-Peters) Beauprey, and Carson Beauprey; great-grandchildren, Leila Ortiz Beauprey, Armani “Weskenosaeh” Awonohopay, and one on the way; siblings, Mary Diane “Moo” Perea, Schuyler (Ruth) Webster, Sherman (Christine) Webster, Stanley (Donnie) Webster; fur buddy, Mesiah; special grandchildren; Asa Fish, Ricky Boivin III, Dustin Tourtillot Jr., Miklo Guzman, Kanewin Dickenson, Nesta Danforth, Gabby Beauprey, Monty Beauprey III, Desmond Beauprey, Sage Beauprey, Keira Nacotee, Wia Komanekin, and Naes Waukau; special nephews, Kaske Fowler, Hutsa Webster, Robert “Scob” Webster, and Monty Beauprey Jr.; special nieces, Pauline Miller, Breezy Ninham, and Sa-Sawn Beauprey; the Pocan girls, Justine, Sam, Katie, and Raeshene; best friends, Nolan Mahkimetas, Ed Mack, Dave Mahkimetas, and Kenny Perez, Sr. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents, James and “Honorable Judge” Christine Webster; daughter, LaRonnah Webster; his grandson, Logan Beauprey; siblings, James Webster Jr., Nancy Webster, Georgiana Ignace, Marylou Webster, Chauncey Webster Sr., Keith Webster, and Darrell Webster; best friend Doug Snow.

Traditional native services for Sheldon will be held starting at 12:00 pm on Thursday July 23, 2026, at the Neopit Community Center and continue on until Friday, July 24, 2026, for the procession to the cemetery at 12:00 pm. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
