Obituary

Sherry Ann Murphy, age 51, passed away on Wednesday February 12, 2025, at her home in Keshena. Sherry was born on May 6, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois to Gerhardt (Rogerine) Wychesit and Mary (Waupekenay) Jorgenson. She was raised in the Chicago area and on the Menominee Reservation. Sherry attended the College of Menominee Nation and University of Morris, MN. In 1988, she was united in marriage to Audie Murphy, Sr., in Keshena. Sherry enjoyed following her husband's band, County Rewind to every show, watching her favorite crime shows, quoting her favorite movies and playing card games with her family. Spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest pleasure.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Audie, Sr.; children, Audie (Richelle) Murphy, Jr., Tara (Richard) Perez, Tricia (Daunte) Murphy, Mehayah Murphy and Dylan Waupoose; grandchildren, Lucas, Braylen, Willow, Caleb, Ashton, Makaylah, Aydrina, Aylah, Ayris, Anthony, Lloyd, Makenzie, Parker and Loren; beloved dog, Spike; parents, Gerhardt (Rogerine) and Mary; sisters, Michelle (Richard) Enno, Misty Wychesit and Shandel Wychesit; and niece, Ashley (Gunnar) Waupekenay; and nephew, RJ (Erin) Enno and Dylan (Jesscia) Enno. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sherry is preceded in death by her son, Aaron Michael Murphy; stepfather, Eugene Jorgenson; and brother, Michael Waupekenay.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Zoar Ceremonial Building starting at 2:00 pm on Friday February 14, 2025, and continuing until 1:00 pm on Monday February 17, 2025.
