Shirley M. Hoffman, age 95, passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in Bowler, Wisconsin on December 28, 1928, daughter of the late Eldred Cecil and Mary Bell (Harning) Hull. Shirley graduated from Bowler High School. After high school, Shirley worked as a waitress at the Veteran's Home in King. She was a hard worker and worked numerous jobs throughout her life including being a matron and bailiff for Shawano County. On June 19, 1948, Shirley was united in marriage to Glenn Hoffman in Gresham. The couple spent 57 wonderful years together before Glenn preceded her in death in 2006. Throughout her life, Shirley enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She kept her mind sharp by reading and working crosswords and cryptograms. Shirley was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family with her whole heart and she will be deeply missed.
Shirley is survived by her children, Dennis "Joe" (Andrea) Hoffman, Ginger Brady, and Lonney (Michelle) Hoffman; grandchildren, Jeremy Hoffman, Angela (Jay) Koeller, Jeff (Jennifer) Brady, Jed (Jenny) Hoffman, Jamie (Ricky) Malueg, Amanda (Adam) Ligocki, Blake Hoffman, Jay (Amanda) Hoffman, Brent (Pam) Hoffman, Abbey (Bo) Van Handel, Courtney (Derek) Drake, Jennifer Collins, Hailey (Justice) Paiser and Michael (Amy) Creapeau; great-grandchildren, Tanner Hoffman, Nicole Koeller, Colton Hoffman, Cody Koeller, Carson Koeller, Ava Hoffman, Holly Brady, Arianna Hoffman, John "Bucky" Brady, Braylee Malueg, Brady "Bud" Malueg, Lexi Brady, Eli Ligocki, Ella Ligocki, Kinsley Van Handel, Daxon Drake, Owen Hoffman, Emalyn Ligocki, Iris Hoffman, Easton Van Handel, Landon Hoffman, Achilles Hoffman, Maleea Creapeau, Michael Creapeau and Markus Crepeau; sister, Dorthy Lepak, Lois Blom, Bonnie (Gary) Dewitt and Debra Hull; sisters-in-law, Donna Hull, Carol Hull, Carol J. Hoffman, Kathy Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Dan (Sue) Hoffman. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents Eldred and Mary; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Selma and Alex Hoffman; sons-in-law, John "Buck" Brady and Arthur Collins; brothers, Alan Hull, Donald Hull and Lyle Hull; brothers-in-law, Alex Bohl, Robert Lepak, Dennis Blom, Clyde Hoffman, Delbert Hoffman, Sanford Hoffman, and Omer Hoffman in infancy; and sisters-in-law, Voni Hull, Evelyn Bohl and Carol M. Hoffman.
Per Shirley's request private family services will be held. Burial in Roosevelt Cemetery will be in the spring.
Shirley's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Evergreen Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided.
