Obituary

Shirley A. House Shirley Ann House, age 77 of Shawano, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013. Born on April 11, 1936 in Centerville, TN, she was the daughter of Belva W. (Wiley) Gleaves and the late Will Stanley Anderson. Shirley lived in Centerville before moving to Chicago where she met her future husband, Sam W. House. The couple was married on January 24, 1955. After marriage the couple moved to the Town of Red Springs where they owned and operated their own dairy farm for nearly 30 years. After retirement the couple moved to Shawano. Shirley was a former member of the Gresham Women's Club and volunteered with the local 4-H Group. The couple's claim to fame was their appearance in the movie "A Time for All Seasons" which was filmed in Shawano County in the early 1970's. Shirley is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Sam; a daughter, Beverly (Richard) Neumeier of Gresham; a son, Sam W. (Joan) House, Jr., of Roselle, IL; 5 grandchildren, Melissa (Wally) Moesch, Miranda (Aaron) Eadler, Nicki (Derrick ) Bernard, Cassandra House, Sammy W. House III, 3 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Dylan, Cole; and her mother, Belva W. Gleaves of Gresham. Shirley is further survived by: a special aunt, Sadie Huneycutt of MS; special cousins, Sara Marcelles, Wallace Bates, Rev. Jim Bates, Barbara Richardson, Elizabeth Antalek, Larry Bates, Mike Anderson, Marie Filson; and a brother-in-law, Marshall House of Chipley, FL. Shirley was preceded in death by: a daughter-in-law, Cindy House; and her father, Will Stanley Anderson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with the Rev. Jim Bates officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Gresham on Sunday from 4:00-7:00pm and on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
