Shirley A.
Otto
August 1, 1936 – February 15, 2022
Shirley Ann Otto, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Appleton. Shirley was born in Shawano on August 1, 1936, daughter of the late John W. and Erna (Bergner) Peters. Shirley graduated from Shawano High School in 1954. On June 11, 1960, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald C. Otto at Peace Church in Shawano. Donald preceded Shirley in death on December 29, 2021. Donald and Shirley lived in Neenah for many years where Shirley stayed home to raise their three children before working as the executive assistant of military sales at Kimberly Clark for 23 years until retiring in 1999. After retiring Shirley and Don moved to Shawano Lake where they spent 22 wonderful years of retirement together. Shirley was a long-time member of Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up. She was always so proud to share their accomplishments and was looking forward to welcoming her first great grandchild in April of 2022, but the Lord had other plans.
Shirley is survived by children, Steven (Carrie) Otto, Jayne (Daniel) McQuillan, and Michael Otto; four grandchildren, Meghan (Montana) Swan, Maria McQuillan, Parker McQuillan, and Bryce Otto; a sister, Patricia (Daniel) Behnke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Shirley in death are her husband, Donald, her parents, and siblings, Jack (Jeanette) Peters, and Beverly (Byron) Frappy.
