Shirley Mae Pederson-Aschenbrenner, age 84 of Leopolis, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Shawano. Shirley was born in Oconto Co. on July 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Luebke) Moore. On March 12, 1949 Shirley was united in marriage to Orlin G. Pederson in Little Suamico who preceded her in death on March 7, 1989. On February 1, 1997, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Aschenbrenner in Leopolis, who preceded her in death on April 9, 2000. The Pederson Family owned and operated Pederson's bar in Leopolis and she was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Leopolis, where she was a part of W.E.L.C.A., the Shawano County Homemaker's, the Leopolis Booster Club and the Leopolis Baseball Hall of Fame. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and doing crossword puzzles. Shirley is survived by her son, Orlin Pederson of Leopolis, Mary (Bob) Pluger of Tilleda, Bob (Julie) Aschenbrenner of Clintonville, Margaret (special friend, Mel Westphal) Aschenbrenner of Leopolis and Ann (Bryan) Pieper of Marinette, 14 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, Duane, and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Pederson, 2 brothers, Frank and Gil and one sister, Merle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Mrs. Lois Graper officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 until time of services at the church with spring burial in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
