Obituary
Shirley Mae (Winquist) Peterson, age 82, of Cecil, passed away peacefully, just short of her 83
rd
birthday, on July 30, 2016 while surrounded by her family.
She was born to the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Mehner) Winquist on August 9, 1933 in Kearsarge, MI.
On December 11, 1952 in Detroit, Shirley was united in marriage to James R. Peterson, who preceded her in death.
Shirley is survived by their five children, Dorothy (Daniel) Kaminski, Dale (Deb) Peterson, Joseph (Tami) Peterson, Donna (Doug) Dreger and John (Laurie) Peterson; 16 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a brother, Jack (Jean) Winquist of Kearsarge.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her son, James R. Peterson, Jr.
A private family memorial service was held with Rev. John Laatsch officiating.
A memorial fund has been established and may be sent in care of Swedberg Funeral Home, 518 W. 5
th
Street, Shawano, WI 54166.
Swedberg –Zastrow Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
