Stella Bigfire, age 88, of Neopit, died Friday, November 27, 2015 in Shawano.  Stella was born to Dave and Ashkaptonokokiew (Raine) on May 24, 1927.  She attended St. Joesph's Catholic School in Keshena.  She was united in marriage to Elmer Bigfire, Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1988.  Stella was teacher and translator of the native Menominee Language.  Beginning in her youth, Stella was very family oriented and instilled that into her children.  She was a member of the Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Neopit.  Stella enjoyed doing word searches and crossword puzzles and was a talented seamstress, but loved nothing more than spending time with those she loved most.    Stella is survived by her sons, William (Roxanna) Bigfire of Keshena and Randall Bigfire of Neopit, her grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Rose Nahwahquaw as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her children, Elmer Bigfire, Jr., Regina Tepiew, Myron James, Clare Jean, Clifford John and Allen George; her sisters and brothers, Sophia Kishketopy, Joesphine Grignon, Eleanor Pyawasit, Joseph Nahwahquaw, Lavina Shawano, Dave Nahwahquaw jr.  Leon Nahwahquaw, Edwin Nahwahquaw and Winefred Nahwahquaw.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Zoar with Rev. John Hartley officiating.  Burial will be in Nahwahquaw Field.  Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 until the time of the services on Monday.  Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
