Stephen Mark "Spike" Waupoose, age 41 of Neopit, died on Monday, May 6, 2013 in Shawano. Born on September 5, 1971 in Shawano, he is the son of the late Melvin and Beatrice (Lyons) Waupoose. Stephen was very friendly and was willing to give you the shirt off of his back. He enjoyed traveling, attending pow-wows, being around family and friends and making those around him laugh. He loved his children more than anything and will be greatly missed by all. Stephen is survived by: his beloved children, Stephen "Anahkwett" Waupoose, Jr., Kyle "Kiwaekum" Waupoose, Austin Waupoose; siblings, Frank "Scooz" Caldwell, Jr., Clifford "Poonah" Kaquatosh, Sr., Dale (Glenda) Kaquatosh, Yvonne Kaquatosh, Brian "Sly" Kaquatosh, Gordy (Alice) Kaquatosh, Paula Waupoose and Sherry (Roger Isham) Waupoose. He is further survived by a special aunt, Edith Santerno, special sister, Kathy Waupoose, numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Chanice Waupoose, Keleigh and Adam Isham, Melvin (Sami) Waupoose Bryce and Manih Waupoose; great-nephew, Joshua Isham and great niece, Kaylin Waupoose. He is preceded in death by: his parents, siblings, Dana, Wanda and Anthony Waupoose, Joe Kaquatosh; 2 nieces Carmella Lita Aragon, Lynn Marie Kaquatosh; and his good friend, Giishik Pyawasit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at N3640 N. 2nd Avenue in Neopit on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the procession leaves for the church. A parish wake service is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
