Tammy L. Kinney, age 49 of Neopit, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. She was born on November 9, 1966 in Shawano, to the late Wayne A. "Tony" Peters Sr. and Davey Jean (Pocan) Peters. Tammy graduated from high school in Riverside, CA. She worked as a security officer at North Star Casino. In her free time Tammy loved cooking, water-skiing, snow-skiing, riding in the woods, going for walks, picking flowers and gambling at North Star Casino. One could always find her singing and dancing. She adored her two cats, Hocus and Duncan.
Tammy is survived by two sons, Joel Kinney Jr. and Johnny Kinney, both of Neopit; her mother, Davey Jean Peters of Neopit; siblings, Rita (Warren "Moon") Grignon of Neopit, Terry Peters of Neopit, Wayne "Guy" (Carrie) Peters Jr. of Keshena, Dean (Mary) Peters Sr. of Neopit, Brian Peters Sr. of Neopit, Dale Peters of Neopit and Leslie (Richard) Peters of Middle Village. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including, Kathy Waupekenay, Joanie Veley, Dale Peters and Shelly, Debbie Pocan, Posey Lyons, the Zella Tepiew family, Moocher Nacotee who called Tammy "Ma" and Gordon Pocan. Tammy will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wayne "Tony"; her brother, Stuart Peters; special aunt, Pat Perez; niece, Deanna Peters; and great nephew, Grayson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dean and Mary Peters residence, located at 3626 1st Avenue in Neopit, on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the procession leaves for the church on Wednesday.
