IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tara Lee
Fierro O'Kimosh
May 27, 1962 – January 16, 2025
Tara Lee Fierro O'Kimosh gave her borrowed breath back to the creator on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 9:43am. She is now reunited with her son, Devlin Fierro O'Kimosh. Mōhkecewan "spring of water", Tara, is a proud Menominee and Arikara woman and represents the Bear Clan. She is the granddaughter of Peter and Delvinia O'Kimosh and the daughter of Elthea O'Kimosh-Richmond.
Tara's son, Devin, and her daughter, Morgan, will live their life in remembrance of her teachings, comfort, and love until their journey leads them home in their mom's embrace. She is also survived by Josue Lugo-Gonzalez, who she loved like a son. She lovingly awaits the reunion of her brother Basil "BW" O'Kimosh, and his wife, her sister, Lizette Bailey-O'Kimosh. Tara also precedes her brother, Melvin "Putter" Stick O'Kimosh, who she has loved all the days of her life. Along with her sister, Alina Richmond, and her two sons, Austin and Raine Richmond, who Tara loves wholeheartedly and treated them like sons since the day they were born. Tara is a part of a big, yet close family and she loves every member of the O'Kimosh family equally, along with her Arikara, Waters family.
Tara was a traditional dancer; she started dancing at the Keshena Bowl before the first powwow. In her youth, she was a champion traditional and fancy shawl dancer. Her favorite drum was the Menominee Chiefs. Tara retired from the United States Government in the Social Security Administration Department where she worked for over 40 years. In her retirement, she has enjoyed the company of her family while floating and swimming. She also enjoyed cheesing it up with her friends and family and making memories wherever she shared her stories and laughter. She was always there to be supportive and understanding of her kids' lives and shined her love brightly towards them. Tara believed in our old ways and led her life to follow those traditions.
The family would like you to know that she was loved by many and she loved and cared for many. All of which made her life even more special.
Tara is preceded in death by her aunts and uncles, John O'Kimosh, Davey Jean O'Kimosh, Anna O'Kimosh, Dovey O'Kimosh and Audrey O'Kimosh.
