IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa "Terri"
Wizner
July 31, 1944 – February 4, 2022
Terri Wizner, 77, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022, at home, the place that she most wanted to be and with her family around her. Terri was born on July 31, 1944, in Laona, WI to Charles and Florence (Kamps) Hayek. She was the 11th of 13 children. Terri was raised in Laona, WI and took pride in being the valedictorian of her high school class. After graduation she moved from her little town to the big city of Green Bay, WI to start her adult life.
Terri met James (Jim) George Wizner while bowling, one of her favorite pastimes from her younger years. They married in 1965. While in Green Bay, Terri worked in retail at Shopko for over 15 years. After a move to Davenport, IA for Jim's work, she embarked on her second career as a phlebotomist at Metro Lab. She continued this work at Shawano Medical Center as her and Jim relocated back to Wisconsin in 1997. Terri officially retired in 2010.
In her retirement, Terri enjoyed spending time quietly reading, puzzling, finding treasures while out rummaging/thrifting, checking out area dining experiences and spending time around her home on The River. She valued family and looked forward to the time they would all gather together again, which happened for her in these last few weeks, bringing a smile to her face.
Terri is survived by her loving and steadfast husband of 57 years, Jim and her children: Mike (Jody) Wizner of Shawano and grandchildren Aidan, Jordan and Deacan Wizner and Jessica (Josh) Heling and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Austin and Camryn Heling; Julie (Steve) Wizner of Appleton and grandson Shawn Brogni; Diane (Tracy) Wizner of Greenleaf; Sue (Jake) Wizner of Ashwaubenon, and grandson Isaiah (Lonnie) Wizner. She is further survived by other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all 12 of her siblings.
Following cremation, there will be a short memorial service on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 2 PM to 4 PM at Swedberg Funeral Home located at 518 W Fifth Street, Shawano, WI.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire ThedaCare at Home Hospice team that provided comfort, care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, etc. please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association.
