Obituary

Theodore W. "Ted" Kupsky, age 92, passed away in Shawano, Wisconsin, on November 17, 2021, and in that way God granted his final prayers to the Lord to be taken to his eternal home to live with his Savior, Jesus. Ted was born at the Kupsky home in Bonduel to Theodore F. and Alma (Luebker) Kupsky on June 8, 1929, the youngest of four children. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel on June 16, 1929, by Rev. Walter J. Plischke, who also officiated as he confirmed his faith there on April 18, 1943. His confirmation verse was from Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear for I am with you My righteous right hand." Throughout his life, Ted found comfort and guidance in this verse.

He attended St. Paul Lutheran School and went on to Bonduel High School, from which he graduated in 1947. He continued his education at a technical college in Chicago, but after completing that course, he returned to the Kupsky farm in Bonduel.

On August 18, 1956, he married Marian Westphal, also of Bonduel, at St. Paul Church in Bonduel. Together they had three children: Mark Andrew, Joel Thomas, and Rebecca Lea. At various times they also parented seven foster children. He was a life-long member of St. Paul Church in Bonduel and served on a number of boards and committees through the years. He also sang in the church choir for many years.

Ted was a dairy farmer until, at age fifty-seven, he became an agent for Rural Mutual Insurance and Farm Bureau Life Insurance companies in Shawano County for twelve years. He was also a member of the County Farm Bureau, was a director for a number of years, and was their county president for several years.

Among some of the activities he enjoyed was being a member of the Bonduel Rotary International Club. One of his favorite pleasures was singing with the area Barbershop Chorus during its existence in the area. Of great value to him throughout the years were the contacts and visits made with relatives and other friendships formed along life's way and which endured for many years. In retirement, Ted and Marian enjoyed many car trips to sites throughout the United States and they traveled through nearly all the states on these vacations. At-home leisure activities he loved playing with his wife, children and grandchild included card games, board games, and outdoor games, etc. In later years, he had more time to read, listen to recorded music, and do puzzles such as crosswords and Sudoku.

Ted is survived by his wife, Marian, one son, Mark, a granddaughter, Theresa (Jeremy) Kendl, and two great-granddaughters, Phoenix and Aspen. He was preceded in death by his son, Joel, and his daughter, Rebecca, and by his parents, sisters: Concordia Beversdorf and Kathryn Kupsky, and his brother, Eldon.

Funeral services for Ted will be held at St. Paul Church in Bonduel on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at twelve o'clock, noon. Public visiting hours at the church will precede the church service beginning at 10:00 am until the time when the church service begins. Those who wish to donate toward a memorial in Ted's name may direct it to St. Paul Church, to the donor's choice, or left to the family's choices.

Ted's family thanks the staff at ThedaCare Hospital Clinic, Birch Hill Care Center, ThedaCare at Home, and ThedaCare Hospice for the attention they gave to Ted's needs.
