Thomas Charles Schweitzer, age 86, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 9, 1932 in West Allis to the late Walter and Eleanor (Meisenhimer) Schweitzer. Thomas was united in marriage to Delores Barbian on June 14, 1952 in Milwaukee. Delores preceded Thomas in death on October 12, 2015. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1954. In his free time he was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outdoors.

Thomas is survived by: his children, Linda (Randall) Contant of Lake Geneva, WI, Patricia (Michael) Zellmer of Costa Mesa, CA, John (Tammy) Schweitzer of Mayville, WI, David (Linda) Schweitzer of Horicon, WI, James Schweitzer of Shawano, WI, Diane (Allen) Hartwig of Clintonville, WI; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; a sister-in-law, Delores Gill of Milwaukee, WI. He is further survived by other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his wife of 63 years, Delores; his parents, Walter and Eleanor; 2 brothers, Richard Schweitzer and Robert Schweitzer; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Katherine and Edward Barbian; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Barbian, Clifford Barbian, and James Barbian; and sister-in-law, Joan Barbian.

Private family services were held. Inurnment will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.
