Timothy Shawn McDowell, age 59, passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2023, in Oconto Falls. Timothy was born on May 22, 1964, to Edward McDowell and the late Joan (Cox) McDowell. He lived his first six years in Patchogue, New York, then moved with his family to a dairy farm in Venice Center, NY. After graduating from Southern Cayuga Central High School, he attended Norwich University Military School in Vermont, where he graduated third in his class. He was a talented tuba and sousaphone player and enjoyed playing in the marching band at Norwich. Timothy served his country proud as a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army and received his honorable discharge.

Timothy's family always admired him for being such a hard worker and devoted to their family farm. They remember how much he enjoyed being a big brother, leading the pack and teasing his siblings and cousins, and they will never forget his mirthful laugh. He also loved living and being in Wisconsin with his family. Tim was always a good son, brother, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Timothy is survived by his father, Edward; two sisters, Wendy (Aaron DeGraff) McDowell and Linda (Frank) Quartaro; and nieces and nephews, Isabel, Luke, Daniel, Dominic and Damian. He is further survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Timothy's extended family is grateful for the caregivers who took care of him in his final months at Meadowbrook at Oconto Falls.

Timothy is preceded in death by his mother, Joan.

A burial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano on Tuesday, November 21, 2023,  at 11:00 am with Pastor Uriah Williams officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #117. Family, friends of the family, and caregivers are welcome.
