Tristam Rand Westphal, age 42 of Bonduel, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 in Green Bay. Tristam was born Julie Reneé Westphal on March 29, 1970 in Milwaukee to Harold and Darlene (Fischer) Westphal. The family lived in Cedarburg until moving to the family farm in Bonduel where Tristam attended St. Paul Lutheran School. After graduating from Bonduel High School, she furthered her education with a degree from UW Madison. Immediately following her graduation from Madison, she was an intern for Russ Feingold's U.S. Senate election campaign. Tristam then worked as a grant writer at Community Memorial Hospital before working as a paralegal for two years. She then worked for the literacy program in Green Bay and Madison before going back to college to become a Pharmacy Technician. On September 8, 2001 Tristam was united in marriage to Douglas Rand in Clintonville. The couple made their home in the Clintonville area where Tristam worked at the local newspaper as the staff photographer as well as a journalist. When not working, Tristam was an avid bike rider. She also loved going to museums, traveling with her family, reading, journaling and going to operas, so much so that she learned German. Along with speaking German, she also spoke Spanish. Tristam will be remembered as a hard worker and a loyal daughter, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Tristam is survived by: her parents, Harold and Darlene Westphal of Bonduel; her sister, Heidie (Chad) Westphal Dunn of Twin Lakes; her nephew, Braden Dunn; and her former husband, Douglas Rand. A private memorial service was held. Inurnment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Bonduel.
