Troy Warren Kinney, Sr., age 52, of Keshena, passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2021. Troy was born on July 26, 1969, to Patricia Kinney and Southern Brown in Chicago, IL. Troy was a charismatic man with a magnetic personality, and he lit up any room he walked into. His presence made you feel good and safe. He had a big heart and loved children and animals. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his significant other, Chanda Bell, his children: Jerome Crowe, Alecia Kinney, Aleta Kinney, David Kinney, Mariah Kinney, Rashawn (Tatum) Bell, Kenew Bell, Nathanial Kinney, Roger Kinney, Walter "Wally" Kinney, and the babiest Tut, Angel Kinney, numerous grandchildren, mother, Patricia Mendoza, father, Southern Brown, brothers and sisters: Joy Brown, Anthony (Theresa) Brown, Consuelo Brown, Dominique Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza, Jr., Laurie (Robert) Mendoza, Mae (Brad) Mendoza, Fransisco (Cher) Mendoza, John Mendoza, Beatrice (Mario) Mendoza, and Mary Mendoza, special brothers and sister: Maurice (Anasile) Chevalier, Macksie (Irene) Chevalier, and Moneejon Chevalier, aunt and uncles, Beatrice Chevalier, Mary (Edward) Post, John (Francine) Chevalier, and Randall Chevalier, in-laws, Chantel and Blaine Alveshire and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Troy was preceded in death by his son, Troy Kinney, Jr., a sister, Kateri Mendoza, a special brother Walter "Wally" Cruz, uncle, Gordon Chevalier, Jr., and grandmother, Mae Chevalier who was the last full-blooded Menominee and who considered Troy her pride and joy.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Troy at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery Visitation will be held at the St. Michael Parish Hall from 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021, until the time of the service on Wednesday. Masks will be required for those who attend.
