Valarie M. Goodwill, age 76, of Suring, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Suring.  Born in Keshena on August 22, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Walter Pyatskowit and the late Lu Teller.  On October 17, 1959 Valarie was united in marriage to Willard Goodwill at St. Joseph of the Lake Catholic Church in South Branch.  Together the couple raised four children and Willard preceded Valarie in death on May 6, 2007.  The Menominee language and culture were an important part of her life.  She served on the Menominee Language and Culture Commission for many years and she loved, not only learning about her culture and language, but also passing her knowledge on to her children and grandchildren.  In her free time she enjoyed playing scrabble, golfing, fishing, cooking, listening to music, and dancing.  More than anything she loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Valarie leaves behind: three children, Kurt (Dawn) Goodwill of Oconto, Kathy (Tom) Ciskoski of Menomonee Falls, and Kris (Gerry Hovde) Goodwill of Birchwood; six grandchildren, Jeff, Kimberly, Logan, Cole, Marina, and Josef; one great grandson, Weston; as well as her siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willard, a son Keith, a grandson Ethan, her parents, and her twin sister Verene.

A Funeral Mass for Valarie will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
