Obituary

Vanitta M. Brusewitz, age 93, of Bonduel, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Shawano.  Vanitta was born in the Town of Hartland, Shawano County on May 7, 1928, daughter of the late Willie and Leona (Boettcher) Quandt.  Vanitta was baptized on June 10, 1928 and confirmed on August 17, 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow by Rev. Victor Weyland.  On June 6, 1953 Vanitta was united in marriage to Maynard Brusewitz.  The couple farmed in the Advance area for four years from 1953 until 1957 at which time they moved to Slab City and Vanitta worked at the Bonduel Pickle factory.  In 1961 they returned to farming in Zachow until retiring in 1989.  They built a home in Bonduel and Vanitta babysat for numerous children over the years.  Maynard preceded Vanitta in death on March 30, 2001. Vanitta was a wonderful woman and enjoyed meticulously caring for her home and yard.

Vanitta is survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Maynard, her parents, and siblings, Adolph Quandt, Dora Wauters, Cecelia Drage, Ida Quandt, Eddie Quandt, and Lester Quandt.

A funeral service for Vanitta will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zachow with Rev. Philip Geiger officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
