Vaughn LaBelle, age 80 of Bowler, passed away on October 13, 2014 in Shawano. Born on May 21, 1934 in the Town of Bartelme, she is the daughter of the late Steven and Irene (Gardner) Vele. On June 27, 1992 Vaughn was united in marriage to Albert W. LaBelle in Milwaukee. Albert preceded her in death on April 17, 2007. Vaughn spent most of her life in the Bowler area. She enjoyed crafting and running the family food stand at Pow-Wows. The most important thing to Vaughn was her family, she loved spending as much time as she could with them. Vaughn was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Ann Doxtater Martinez; her granddaughter, Mercedes Martinez, whom she raised, and several brothers and sisters. Vaughn is survived by: her sons, Kelly (Rebecca) Doxtater of Kewaskum, David Doxtater of Green Bay and Mark (Simone) Doxtater of Bowler; her grandchildren, Katie, Chelsea, Alex (Sara), Vaughn and Jenna; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Carson, Jackson, Takoah, Taliah, Tamiah; her siblings, Allen (Leona) Vele of Bowler and Susan (Lee) Williams of OK; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece Olivia (Risk) Rosenow. She is further survived by great-nieces, Roselynn and Revel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness with Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating with burial in the Red Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00a.m. until the time of the service.
