Obituary

It is with our heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and auntie, Velma Murphy on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Velma was born on June 10, 1967, she wasn’t only a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and auntie, she was a best friend and confidant. Growing up in a large family we shared countless adventures with the horses, family, playing sports and music together. Velma enjoyed camping and picnics. Her number one passion besides her children and grandchildren was horses, she loved crocheting, crafts such as making 3D homemade cards, baking, trying new recipes and karaoke. For special occasions and holidays, she loved making candy baskets for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Velma had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. She was ready to lend a helping hand and share her stories.

Velma leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories. She is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Sam) Graetz; son, Todd Graetz; grandsons, Christopher Reider, Kayden Reider and Liam Reider; sisters, Cathy (Dale) Adams and Valerie (Rick) Murphy; brothers, Pat Murphy, Ole (Julie) Murphy, Larry (Gerard) Murphy and Audie (Deanna) Murphy, Sr.; nieces, Joy, Tiffeny, Tara, Tricia, Mehayah, Anna, Desiree and Katie; nephews, Michael, Audie, Jr., Bobby, Rodney, Dylan and Brett.
