Verna B. Miller, age 87 of Neopit, passed away Wednesday, August 07, 2013 at a local nursing home. Born on April 10, 1926 in Neopit, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Susan (Amob) Beauprey. On June 5, 1948 she was united in marriage to Fred F. "Bud" Miller at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1982. Verna worked as a dispatcher for the Menominee County Police Department until retiring. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Schoenstadt Society and the St. Kateri Tekawitha Circle. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Verna was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed. Verna is survived by: 4 children, Clara (Al) Miller of Neopit, Susan (Donahue) Miller of Keshena, Frederick (Liz) Miller, Jr. of Whitewater, David A. "Jonsey" (Becky) Miller of Keshena; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Cordelia Beauprey of Zoar, Eldora Besaw of Neopit, Marcene Beauprey of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Lorelei Beauprey of Milwaukee; special niece, Diane "Tootie" Shooter; special nephew, Darrell O'Katchicum; and her very good friend, Elaine Peters. Verna was preceded in death by: her husband, Bud; 5 children, Sandra Miller, Mary Ann Miller, John D. Miller, Edward "Bosco" Miller, Lori Jean Miller; her parents; 3 brothers, Rodney Beauprey, Luke Beauprey, Quentin Beauprey; and 3 sisters, Anna Belle Moeser, Virginia Tousey and Susan Marie O'Katchicum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David McElroy O Praem officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the family residence located at W6716 Shawpokasic Street in Neopit from 4:00pm on Thursday until the time of the service on Saturday. A Parish Wake service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
