Obituary

Victor Julius Buettner, 92 of the Town of Pella, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Shawano Medical Center with his family by his side. Victor was born at home on January 16, 1920, the son of the late Kunibert and Zelma (Cornelius) Buettner and lived his entire life on the homestead which he farmed. On June 10, 1962 he married Dorothy Syme in College Place WA. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2001. Victor was an active member of the Shawano Seventh Day Adventist Church where he had been an elder, deacon, treasurer and Sabbath School teacher. Victor was very skilled at working on anything mechanical especially antique engines and farm equipment. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and writing poetry. Victor is survived by his children: Darla (Joe) Giver of Fitchburg, Reggie (Jeanna) Buettner of Plover, Colleen (Russ) Berger of Wilson, MI, and Duane (Shannon) Buettner of Clintonville; grandchildren: Cole and Cortney Berger, Janiece and Janna Buettner, and Kaylee Buettner. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Victor was preceded in death by: his wife, Dorothy; his parents; a sister Elda Heling; and a brother Wylie Buettner. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Rick Binford officiating. Burial will be in the River Bank Cemetery in the Town of Pella. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home on Monday from 4 until 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of services.
