Obituary

Victor DuWayne "Dewey" Powell, of Cloverleaf Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Evergreen Nursing Home in Shawano. DuWayne was born June 14, 1940 in Bryant to the late Raymond and Viola (Criscione) Powell.  Later, the family moved to Shawano.  DuWayne lived and worked in Kaukauna and later moved to Las Vegas, returning to Shawano in 1992.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in the woods, fishing, reading, woodworking and playing pool.
He is survived by: his brothers, Keith (Aggie Brennan) Powell and Leon (Deb Zerniecke) Powell; a sister and brother-in-law, Valarie Powell and Thomas Monsour; brother-in-law, Archie Russell; and three generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Connie Purpura, Carol Hoffmann and Joan Russell; and a brother-in-law, William Hoffmann.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm.
The family would like to thank Lakeland Care, ThedaCare Hospice workers and the staff at Evergreen who cared for Victor (DuWayne) in his final days.
