Violet May Hinz, age 86 of Bonduel, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, in Bonduel. Born on July 22, 1926, in the Town of Hartland, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Frieda (Kuehl) Buss. Violet lived all of her life in the Bonduel area. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Vern W. Hinz at Frieden's Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Violet was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where she was active in the Mission Circle, the church council, was financial secretary and volunteered for many church activities. Violet was also a charter member and volunteer of the Bonduel Archives. She loved spending time with her family and reading a good book. Violet was loved by many and affectionately known as "Grandma Vi" and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Violet is survived by 3 daughters: Debra (Robert) Court of Black Creek, Donna (Jack) Niles of Bonduel, Dianne (George Block) Hinz of Manitowoc; 5 grandchildren: Barry (Laura) Niles, Bridgett (Mike) Dingeldein, Brooke (Jayson) Magnin, Jed (Kristie) Court, Jason (Jenni) Court; 12 great-grandchildren with the 13th due in November; a sister, Betty (Melvin) Wendland of Bonduel; and 2 sisters-in-law, Sally Buss of Bonduel and Alice Whitley of St. Helens, OR. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Vern on April 16, 1991; her parents; and a brother, Harvey Buss. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer and Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
