Violet Y. Ninham, age 73, of Gresham, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 in her home. She was born to Veronica (Nunway) Spruce and her stepfather, Sam Spruce, on August 26, 1948 in Green Bay. Violet held an Associate Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She worked for over thirty years at the Stockbridge and Menominee medical centers until her retirement three years ago. Violet was a member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Nation. She was united in marriage on May 11, 1968 to Allen Ninham in Milwaukee. Violet was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church Morgan Siding. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; children, Marvin (Kimberly) Ninham, Vincent Ninham and Lynn Ninham; six grandchildren, Kimberlyn, Tarah (Tyler), Alexandria, Desmond, Savannah, and Mason; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Jerry (Geraldine) Nunway, Carol (William) Tyler, Debra (Mister) Spruce, Samuel (Kelly) Spruce, Jr., Margaret (Curtis Peters) Spruce, Marvin (Toni) Spruce, and Jeffrey Spruce.  Violet is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Violet is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Nunway and dog, Chester.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with Pastor Roy Rinehard officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham from 4:00-7:00 pm and from 10:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial will be in the Red Springs Cemetery.
