Virginia "Ginger" Calkins Wright peacefully joined our Lord and Savior on Friday April 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and many friends. She was 75. She was born on February 17, 1943, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Verneeda M. (Hopperton) Vedder.  On June 11, 1960 Ginger was united in marriage to Fredrick "Ark" Ray Calkins. The two separated, but remained good friends until his death on December 24, 2002. Ginger later was united in marriage to David D. Wright on December 13, 2000. He also proceeded in her death on May 4, 2015 after 14 years of a wonderful marriage.

Ginger enjoyed crocheting, quilting, playing bingo and many nights at the Menominee Casino testing her luck. She loved spending time with her family and especially adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was also a legendary bass player, playing with many bands throughout her life, most recently with The Thunder Country Band, until she retired from playing at the age of 73.

Ginger is survived: by her children, Ralph (Debra) Calkins, Rick Calkins, Russell Calkins, Robin Calkins, Randy (LaRayne) Calkins and Rodrick (Jill) Calkins; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); and 3 great great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Larry Vedder; her sisters, Gerri Jones, Sandy Sarelas and Darlene Robinson; and her special companion, Jeff.

Preceding her in death are her step-father, Gordon "Gordy" Calkins; her great- granddaughter, Brittany Gail Becker; and two sisters; Patsy and Judy.

The family graciously thanks the ThedaCare Home Hospice for their amazing care and assistance. They would also like to extend a very gracious thank you to John Greer for his loving care and assistance.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cecil-Washington Community Hall, 111 E. Hofman St. in Cecil on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:30 am until 6:00 pm. There will be fellowship, food and lots of music.
