Virginia M. "Ginny" Lee, age 86 of Shawano, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at a local nursing home. Born on October 3, 1926 in Appleton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Kunstman) Witthuhn. Ginny was a graduate of the Appleton West High School, Class of 1945. On October 18, 1947 she was united in marriage to William Emerson Lee at the Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Bonduel area. Ginny worked for the Telephone Company in Fond du Lac and in Appleton. She also helped her husband run Sha-Bon and later worked for the Shawano County Sherriff's Department. Ginny was a former member at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel and was currently attending Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. She cherished moments spent with her beloved family and also enjoyed playing cards, going camping, and visiting the casino. Ginny is survived by: her 5 children, Linda (Joel) Kroening of Bonduel, Robert "Bob" (Darlene) Lee of Black Creek, William "Billy" (Penny) Lee of Bonduel, Shari (Dale) Bergsbaken of Cecil, Joan (Bill) Brecken of Bonduel; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly (Dennis) Brei, Jeffrey (Danielle) Kroening, Mike (Barb) Lee, Mark Lee, Travis Lee, Jeremy (Katie) Lee, Amanda (Nohal) Mechelke, Adam Bergsbaken, Russel Brecken, Dan (Wendy) Brecken, Jill (Joe) Hert; 6 great-grandchildren, Jazi, Zack and Alex Lee, Lexi Lee, Peyton and Hudson Mechelke; a sister, Viola (Jack) Leipzig of MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ginny was preceded in death by: her husband, William on November 18, 1999; an infant son; her parents; and a brother, Harold Witthuhn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Wednesday from 4-8pm and at the church on Thursday from 10am until the time of the service.
