Virginia Phylis Weimer, age 94, of Gresham, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Shawano. Virginia was born in Lyndhurst on April 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Schmidt) Otto. In 1944, she moved to Milwaukee where she worked for Midland Co-op and later for Milwaukee Public School lunch service. On October 19, 1946, Virginia was united in marriage to Otto Weimer at Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1980 when they moved back to Gresham. On August 8, 1990, Otto passed away. Virginia was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham and Zion Ladies Aid where she held various offices. She was also a volunteer for the Gresham Area Senior Citizens and Bethesda Thrift Store in Green Bay.
Virginia is survived by: one son, Bruce (Maria) Weimer of Milwaukee; two daughters, Burnel Quinlan of Milwaukee and Sandra Englert of Shawano; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Otto; her parents; and four brothers, Clarence, Lester, Roy and Robert II.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham with Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Interment will be in Zion Rest Cemetery in the Town of Herman. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham.
