Walter W. Erdmann, age 62 of Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Walter was born in Shawano on May 9, 1952 to the late Roy and Elaine (Hopper) Erdmann. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1970. Walter enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Walter enjoyed his visits with the veterans and playing cards with them, many times bringing his dog Candy with him. Walter's favorite things were playing horse shoes, shooting pool, playing cribbage and having big campfires. Walter was also a Packer, Brewer and Wisconsin Badger fan. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Walter is survived by: his children, Cassie (Mark) Erdmann, Derek (Devan) Erdmann, Kerri (Tony) Erdmann; grandchildren, Darcie, Desirae, Silica, Larry, Scott, Nastacia, Shaka, Scott and Brianna; great-grandchildren; sisters, Cherie (Ward) Peterson, Lynette (Ken) Mueller, Suzette (Rene) LeBlanc and Kathleen Daly; brothers, Ronald (Vivian) Erdmann, Philip (Carol) Erdmann, Keith (Elvita) Erdmann. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allen and his sister Annette. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
