Obituary

Walter F. Hintz, age 82 of the Town of Underhill, Gillett formerly of Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 4, 1930 in Green Bay, he was the son of the late Walter O. and Laura (Maedke) Hintz. Walter graduated from Gillett High School in 1948. After graduation he worked for the Green Bay & Western Railroad where he started as a section worker. From 1951 to 1954 he served with the United States Army during the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge in 1954 he returned to the Railroad, retiring as an Engineer. On August 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to Ethel Bardouche at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Green Bay. The couple made their home in the Green Bay area until moving back to "The Shaque" in 1992. When not working, Walter enjoyed spending time at his "haven in the woods" as well as hunting and fishing. Walter is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Ethel; 5 children, Lisa (Larry) Schilling of Naperville, IL, Steven (Vickie) Hintz of Wisconsin Rapids, Robert (Renee) Hintz of Suamico, Mari Beth (Roug) Cox of St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca (Richard) Chernick of Green Bay; and 7 grandchildren, Joe and Jacob Hintz, Caley and Cristey Johnson, and Mitchell, Garrett and Caleb Cox. Walter is further survived by: a brother, Donald (Linda) Hintz of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Lynn (Derald) Chartier of CA; 2 brothers-in-law, Gerald (Eileen) Bardouche of Little Suamico, Peter (Judy) Bardouche of MT; several nieces and nephews; and a close family friend, Jerry Johnson of Green Bay. Walter was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Jimmy; and a sister-in-law, Jean (nee Bardouche) White. A family gathering will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the "The Shaque".
