Obituary

Walter "Marvin" Marheine, age 63 of the Town of Richmond, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his home. Born on February 7, 1948 in Kingsford, MI, he was the son of Helen (Wood) Marheine and the late Larry W. Marheine. After graduating from high school, Walter enlisted with the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Walter lived most of his life in the Hollandtown area where he worked for Treadeau Painting. In 1991 he moved to the Shawano area where he worked for WI Film & Bag and Wright's Broilers. On May 27, 2000 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Johnson in Kaukauna. Walter enjoyed hunting and socializing with friends. Walter is survived by: his wife, JoAnn; a son, Matthew (Shannon) Marheine of OR; 3 stepsons, Travis (Corina) Jahnke of Appleton, Vernon Jahnke of Hartland, Theodore (Melanie) Hoffman of Vancouver, WA; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jaime, Lexi, Jacob, Connor; his mother, Helen Marheine of Kimberly; 3 brothers, Danny Marheine of Kaukauna, Doug Marheine of Kaukauna, Mark Marheine of Kimberly; a sister, Vicky (Louie) DeLeeuw of Kaukauna; and several nieces and nephews including a niece, Tami and a nephew, Jamie. Walter was preceded in death by: his father, Larry; and a sister, Debbie. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano V.F.W. Post #2723 at the funeral home following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday after 5pm until the time of the service. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
