Walter M. Pederson, Jr., age 84 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Shawano. Born on January 15, 1928 in Neopit, he was the son of the late Walter M. and Margaret (Boyd) Pederson, Sr. On March 6, 1946 Walter enlisted with the United States Navy and served his country until his Honorable Discharge on March 5, 1948. On October 9, 1948 he was united in marriage to June Grosskopf in Shawano. Walter worked as a milkman and as a foreman at Reinhart Food Service. In his free time he loved watching sports especially the Packers, Brewers and Cubs. He also enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing cribbage and going to the casino to play the slots. Walter was very family orientated and his biggest enjoyment came from the time he spent with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Walter is survived by: his former wife, June; 6 children, Walter (Sharon) Pederson III of FL, Sandra Jaje of Weston, Kem (Gail) Pederson, Sr. of Shawano, Shelley Brennan of Gresham, Jill (Jim) Kamke of Shawano, Scott Pederson of Shawano; grandchildren, Rena, Ryan, Kari, Kem Jr., Josie, Sarah, Richard, Bill, Craig, Adam, Tim, Bobbie, Tori and Taylor; plus numerous great-grandchildren. He is further survived by: a brother, James Pederson of DePere; and a sister, Ellen Navarrete of AL. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a granddaughter, Stacy Jaje. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating.
