Obituary

Wayne Roland Johnson, age 86, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at his home in Cecil. Wayne was born in Laona, Wisconsin on March 7, 1936, to the late Harry and Esther (Medenwaldt) Johnson.  Wayne had one brother, Norman J. Johnson, who passed away on May 16, 2011.  At the age of one, his family moved to Chicago, where he attended St. Edwards Catholic Grammar School and De Paul Academy.  While at the academy, he excelled in track and cross country.

Wayne was united in marriage to Arlene Roeske on June 1, 1947, and the couple had two children, Donna Marie Johnson and Dale Brian Johnson.  Wayne remarried and was united in marriage to Carol Egelkraut, who preceded him in death on March 21, 1997.  On January 6, 2001, Wayne was united in marriage to Lori Haganes in Cecil.

Wayne was in the United States Signal Corp. and was Honorably Discharged as a Supply Sargent E5.  Unfortunately, his military records were destroyed in the St. Louis fire. Wayne worked in the automotive industry from 1961-1989.  The company that he worked for as a sales manager in 1984 was bought out by another company in Green Bay.  In 1984, Wayne and Carol moved to Wisconsin, where he became Director of Marketing for the new company.  In 1984, he resigned from the company stating, "because he did not want to fly anymore".  He joined a small metal fabrication company and worked there until 1997, when his wife Carol passed away from cancer.  He officially retired in 1998.  While visiting his Aunt Marion Bradle, who moved to Green Bay from Chicago, Wayne met Lori, Marion's nurse.  Four years later he married Lori Haganes.  Lori had two school age children, Anthony and Christopher Jamroz.

Wayne enjoyed playing softball, horseshoes and curling.  He was also an avid Packers and Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Donna Johnson, Dale (Tracy) Johnson, Anthony Jamroz and Christopher Jamroz; and one granddaughter.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Norman.
