Wayne William "Swede" Waukau, age 47, of Keshena, died on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Shawano. Swede was born in Oshkosh on February 10, 1968 to the late Wayne R. and Karen (Cox) Waukau. He was employed at Menominee Enterprises for most of his working career. On December 10, 1988, he was united in marriage to Robin Gauthier at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Wayne helped his Uncle Bill with the annual Sturgeon Feast on the Menominee Reservation. He also helped with his Uncle Walter Cox teach hunter safety. Wayne was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Swede enjoyed both playing and watching baseball, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, but most of all loved spending time with his two grandsons, Cash and Brandon. Swede is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Robin; his children, Brian (Leah) Grignon of Keshena, Justin (Jennie) Waukau in Green Bay and Kimberley Waukau; two grandsons, Cash Grignon and Brandon Miller, Jr.; one brother, Jeremy Waukau of Green Bay as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the family residence N1501 Blue Heron Trail, Keshena after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 until the procession leaves for the church on Thursday.
