Wayne M. Van der Linden, age 77, passed away with his family by his side on November 9, 2015, after a two year illness. Wayne was born on June 29, 1938 in Milwaukee, son of the late Sydney and Lorraine (Sonnemann) Van der Linden. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. He was united in marriage to Glenna Amidon on September 6, 1958. Wayne worked as a plumber and a master plumber until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in the Town of Belle Plaine. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family at the cottage on Long Lake. Wayne also enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, as well as fishing. Wayne is survived by his son, Glenn; his daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Rouse; three granddaughters, Stephanie, Brittany (special friend, Cody) and Courtney Rouse; two brothers, Sydney (Sandra) and Thomas (Karen) Van der Linden; very special friends, Shanda Hubertus-Malak and Shaun Malak and several nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Glenna and his parents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with Rev. Kurt Kluge officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
