Obituary

Wayne A. Waupoose, age 41 of Denmark, died unexpectedly on June 2, 2014 in Shawano. Born on May 3, 1973 in Shawano, he is the son of the late Evelyn Kay Waupoose. He was united in marriage to Nichole Justice on October 6, 2006 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Wayne was a quiet, humble and honest individual as well as a loving father to his 2 sons, Ramone and Chubbs, who he adored. Wayne graduated from the Notre Dame Academy, Green Bay, in 1993. He attended college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and the College of Menominee Nation where he earned his Associate's Degree in Microcomputer class and microprogramming. He was employed at the Menominee Casino as the SDS Accountant. He also worked for the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin (MITW) as an Accountant in the Finance Department and worked in the MIS Department with the tribe as a Computer Programmer. His love of teaching was evident as he shared his knowledge of computers with those who attended his IT trainings at MITW, along with the computer classes he taught. Wayne held an interest in all types of sports, having recently discovered a love of fishing, but was especially fond of and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Wayne is survived by: his wife, Nichole; his sons Ramone and Chubbs; a sister, Kathy Waupoose of Neopit; a brother, Tony (Tracy) Waupoose of Keshena; nieces and nephews, Mindy, A.J., Manih, Melvin and Bryce Waupoose; great-niece, Kaylin; aunt, Edith Santerno of Neopit and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by: his mother, Evelyn; a brother, Melvin in infancy; uncles and aunts, Melvin and Beatrice Waupoose, Francis "Pooch" Waupoose; Mildred Mindy' and Bill Du Bois; his grandparents Mary Toots' and Francis Waupoose; and cousins, Stephen, Dana, Anthony and Wanda Waupoose. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David McElroy O.Praem officiating. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center from 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of services on Friday. There will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
