William "Wild Bill" Hoefs, age 81 of Clintonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 24, 2024, at Greentree Health and Rehab. Wild Bill was born on March 27, 1943, to the late Louis and Loretta (Hartwig) Hoefs in Shawano. On September 15, 1980, he was united in marriage to Sally Paiser at Stony Hill Lutheran Church in Thornton. The couple spent a wonderful 40 years together before Sally's passing in 2021. Wild Bill was a foreman by trade, but he also had many other jobs. He was a musician playing in the County Playboy Show, as well as an auctioneer who owned H&H Auction Service Lakeside Auction Barn and owned Hoefs Transit Independent Trucking. When he retired from the trades, he opened Lakeside Welding and Fabricating in Clintonville where he enjoyed building machines out of scraps and fixing the unfixable. It was well known that if Wild Bill couldn't fix it, no one could. He loved to teach anyone who wanted to learn and was a wealth of knowledge that will be greatly missed. Wild Bill was a wonderful mentor, father and papa who was loved by all.

Wild Bill is survived by his children, Louie (Debbie) Hoefs, Billy Hoefs, Jr., Linda (Kyle) Gawlick and Roberta (Leroy) Pingel; grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Amundson, Casey (Gobby) Hoefs, Niki (Sean) Hoefs, William Hoefs and Dominic Pingel; great-granddaughter, Delaney.

Wild Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Sally and parents, Louis and Loretta.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
