Obituary

William K. "Bill" Teetzen, age 79, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. Bill was born on January 26, 1941 to the late Karl and Elsie (Kroenke) Teetzen in Shawano. He attended St. Jakobi Lutheran Church all of his life and was baptized on February 25, 1941 and confirmed on May 29, 1955. Bill graduated from Shawano High School in 1959. On September 16, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to Barbara Selle. As a member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church, Bill served his congregation as an Elder, Trustee Chairman, and on the Building and Finance Commission. He completed and helped with many of the building projects. Bill was also a member of the dartball team and sang in the church choir most of his life. He was a builder all of his life and a woodworker by trade. Since his retirement, Bill loved when he had a wood project to do. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going up to the cabin, traveling, making firewood, and playing cards. Bill enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Bill loved spending time with his family especially his children, grandchildren who knew him as "Bumpa" and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Barbara; his sons, Brad (Heidi), Bruce (Michelle), and Bryan (Melissa); grandchildren, Emily (Dan Gerling) Teetzen, Elizabeth (Ken Schroeder) Teetzen, Will Teetzen, Ashley (Eric Schuh) Teetzen, Lindsey Teetzen, Katelyn (Keith) Jashinsky, Kylie Teetzen, and Braden Teetzen; great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Aubrey, Eva, Rhett, and Seth; brother, Richard (Faith); sister-in-law, Judi (Rich) Raddant; brother-in-law, Mark (Jackie) Selle; and sisters-in-law, Noreen Selle and Diane Schutte; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Luella) Selle, Evelyn (Stanley) Genskow, Alvin Selle, and Jim Selle.

A funeral service for Bill's family will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Kleinschmidt officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic limitations friends will be able to listen to services in the church parking lot, no visitation will be held. Burial will be in St. Jakobi Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the St. Jakobi building fund.
