Kinziger
October 24, 1926 – May 5, 2019
William Wayne "Ol' Bill" Kinziger, 92, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2019 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on October 24, 1926, in Oconto, to the late Charles and Bertha (Derks) Kinziger. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 serving in North Africa and the Phillippines. Bill was united in marriage to Bette Lemke in Milwaukee in 1947.
After the war, Bill worked as a professional photographer. Bill and Bette had five daughters, Penny, Patricia, Priscilla, Paula, and Pamela. In recent years Bill loved to play pool, collect cameras and was a member of the local AMVETS.
Bill is survived by: his five daughters, Penny (John) Hicks of Gilbert, Arizona, Patti (Richard) Hoffmann of Manitowoc, Priscilla Kinziger of Wisconsin Rapids, Paula (Jeff) Stillman of Menomonee Falls, and Pamela (Simon) Monreal of Waukesha; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special friend, Phyllis Wilson of Shawano; his former wife, Bette Kinziger of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one sister, Margaret Mary Kinziger Parks of Scottsdale, Arizona; and three nieces, Pamela (Ted) Neff and Robin Neddermeyer of Arizona, and Sandra (Brian) Little of Portland, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Bertha; one brother John Robert; and one nephew, Terry Reed Neddermeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be in Oconto Catholic Cemetery on Monday, May 13, 2019. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be conducted by the Shawano AMVETS at the funeral home following the funeral service. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Bill's name.
Bill's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice Services. Their dedication and compassionate care will be remembered with great fondness.
