Obituary

William Carl "Bill" Schmidt, age 61, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Bill was born in Shawano on January 28, 1957, son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Kreklow) Schmidt.  He was a graduate of UW Eau Claire.  On January 28, 1996 Bill was united in marriage to Pamela Roloff.  Bill lived in Shawano most of his life and was the president and active member of the Shawano Lake Lion's Club, as well as very active at the state level.   He was a Brewers fan and a Packers super fan and enjoyed curling and golfing.  It could be said that Bill had the best looking lawn on the block.
Bill is survived by: his wife, Pam; children, Neal (Becky) Olson of Colorado and Amanda (Pachi) Mercedes Laureano of Shawano; two grandchildren, Oliver and Maximo; "adopted" children, Katie and Maria.  He is further survived by his brother, Dr. Michael (Becky) Schmidt of Plover; two nephews, Jason (Laura) Schmidt and Andrew (Carrie) Schmidt; as well as his favorite dogs, Winston Churchill and Puttser.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Mr. Richard Menning officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of the service.
